Peanut Butter Chaos

Spring forward didn't do us any favors today.  We need to leave the house at 8:50 to have a relaxed drive to drop Lucy off at school but this morning the kids and I woke up at 8:30.  We jumped out of bed and rushed to get ready.  Everything was going great until it was time to pick out shoes.  With all the rain I assumed Lucy would wear her rain boots but I was oh so wrong!  After Lucy's ten minute sobbing fit I finally called the school and reported her absence for the day.  My intention was for us to have a nice relaxed day together but again I was wrong.  Before noon Maxx got smacked in the head with an Elmo doll, green smoothie was spilled on my rug, a bottle of bubbles were spilled on the kitchen floor,  ramen noodles were thrown on the couch, rice was taken out of the cupboard and thrown on the floor and Maxx had 4 "time-outs" for various reasons.  When Kyle walked in he said, "its pure and utter chaos around here."  Giggling, Lucy said, "yeah, peanut butter chaos!"

Lazy Day

First missing tooth!

Lucy lost her first tooth over the weekend.  It was barely hanging on for days and she wouldn't let anyone touch it but finally she let Kyle "check it" and he pulled it right out.  She giggled and said, "hey that didn't hurt at all!  The one next to it will be coming out any day now, I cant wait!

Winter break!

Today is Lucy's first day of winter break! I'm looking forward to a couple lazy weeks at home with the kids.  We won't even have to change out of our pajamas all day!  Lucy got dressed this morning in her pink pants, her red Back To The Future shirt and her striped wool socks.  She doesn't have to worry about matching for two whole weeks.  Apparently in kindergarten whether or not things match is very important.  What a great age to be.

Pancake Mornings with Papa

Papa always makes sure that everyone is well fed, even if that means running to the store before everybody wakes up to buy buttermilk for his specialty, buttermilk pancakes!  Lucy makes sure to mention before bed that she can't wait for pancakes in the morning.  What a sweet Papa!
